InterCity your way around New Zealand for Rugby World Cup

If you’re planning to go to New Zealand to follow your team for the 2011 Rugby World Cup, and are not sure about how to get around to see all of your team’s games then coach company InterCity has the answer for you.

InterCity has just launched 10 team specific Rugby Travelpasses which uses InterCity Coachlines for travel.

Using InterCity’s extensive national coach network the new Rugby Travelpasses enable visiting rugby fans to follow their team around the country and explore New Zealand with ease.

Rugby Travelpass itineraries are available for the national teams of Wales, Scotland, England, Ireland, France, South Africa and Australia.

“For one very affordable price travellers can sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery aboard modern, comfortable, low-emission coaches designed specifically for New Zealand conditions.” says InterCity Group’s General Manager Marketing & Online Sales, Daniel Rode.

The 10 new “hop on – hop off” passes offer a collection of fixed itinerary options with prices starting from as little as $175.  Each itinerary follows a national team around all pool games through to the quarterfinal stage.  Supporters can hop on and off anywhere along the itinerary routes – allowing the opportunity to explore main centres as well as off-the-beaten track locations.

A number of the itineraries also include city sightseeing options in Auckland and Wellington, as well as the world famous Waitomo Caves, Milford Sound and the Interislander ferry.

The Rugby Travelpasses offer travellers a high level of flexibility as it is possible to change a coach booking up to two hours prior to travelling.  This means that at any point a traveller decides they want to extend or shorten their visit, it is possible to do so and then to resume travel and finish the trip when it suits them.

Travellers also have the ability to make use of the broader InterCity Coachlines network by diverting from the Travelpass itinerary into other areas of New Zealand (travel outside of the Travelpass itinerary is at extra cost).

Travelpass passes are valid for 12 months from activation with activation occuring once travel has been booked against the pass.
