Getting laid back in Surfers Paradise Queensland

The Australian State of Queensland has many great tourist destinations, but one of the best is the Gold Coast in the south of the State.  Surfers Paradise is the town that really put the Gold Coast on the map, and as a tourist destination it is still going strong.

Although Surfers has many high rise apartment buildings, it manage to exude a laid back, casual, sub-tropical environment.  It has an excellent beach, and excellent shops and restaurants, many of which just won’t break your budget.  For instance, each Wednesday and Friday night a market is erected on the boardwalk which runs adjacent to the beach, at which you can get many bargains.  Start the day with a $10 all you can eat breakfast at the Surfers Paradise Surf Club.

Cavill Mall is a pedestrian thoroughfare in central Surfers Paradise, where there are lots of shops and entertainment venues to keep you amused.

Surfers Paradise is blessed with a great climate, and it is the perfect place to both relax or indulge in sports and entertainment activities, and you can even be pampered to your heart’s content.

Surfers is just an hour by road to Brisbane in the south and to Byron Bay in the south, and there is plenty to see and do in between.

Check out my tongue-in-cheek video about Surfers Paradise – I really loved it there.
