The Republic of Fiji is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean that is located about 1,100 nautical miles north of New Zealand and 1,860 nautical miles east of Australia.
It is an archipelago of 332 islands, about one third of which are inhabited. Most of the inhabitants live on the island of Viti Levu, site of the nation’s capital and largest city, Suva.
Fiji is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the South Pacific. It is a country with very good tourist facilities, and boasts a population of friendly locals who do welcome visitors to their shores. One of the greatest pleasures in visiting Fiji is to experience the local indigenous culture and to interact with the villagers who are willing to share their lifestyle with others.
