Avalon Waterways New Suite Ships

vlnvstRiver cruise specialist Avalon Waterways continues to grow by offering new itineraries and introducing new ships to its fleet.

The company has announced the introduction of another two new stylish Suite Ships which will join its fleet, giving it a total of 10 Suite Ships in all and the most modern river cruise fleet in Europe.

The two new vessels have been named Avalon Tapestry II and Avalon Tranquility II. New departures include 19 different itineraries on the Rhine, Seine, Moselle, Danube and Main rivers.

The popularity of the suite ship way of cruising has certainly been meteoric. Avalon’s Suite Ship concept has grown rapidly since the debut of Avalon Panorama in just 2011.

With two entire decks of all-suite accommodation and 30 per cent more cabin area than the average competitor, Panorama set new standards in space and style.

Since its inception, new suite ships have entered the Avalon fleet every year since. Each features wall-to-wall panoramic windows that slide back to turn the entire cabin into an open-air balcony, allowing passengers to enjoy the outdoors without compromising space.

Avalon Waterways currently has 28 popular river cruise itineraries, ranging in duration from eight to 24 days.

The most popular of these is the eight-day A Taste of the Danube itinerary which cruises between Budapest and Vienna. Other favourite itineraries include the eight-day Romantic Rhine between Zurich and Amsterdam, the 15-day Magnificent Europe between Amsterdam and Budapest and the 11-day Burgundy & Provence between the Côte d’Azur and Paris.

There are over Avalon Waterways 130 departures each season, proving the popularity of European river cruising.
